HORIZON-CL5-2022-D3-03-04 topic aims to contribute to the development of open-source data driven tools to decrease energy costs on operation, while increasing total wind farm output. At the same time, it aims to interoperable frameworks and controls of digital and physical tools, to enhance data collection and analysis, while contributing to LCOE reduction in line with the SET Plan targets.
In the light of all, the use of a controllable grid interface test system will provide system engineers with a better understanding on how the wind turbines and the energy storage system react to disturbances on the electric power system.
With our propositions, we aim to the development of a digital twin of the wind farm to test, control and operate the whole wind farm, accompanied with the development of a blockchain layer on top of the operational system, which will facilitate transactions of energy and data via smart contracts.
Such tools are considered innovative and contribute to the sustainability efforts of the EU for low-cost and reliable energy generation, increased operational security, open-source data driven AI, prognostic tools for failures and damages, utilization with large wind turbines and lastly better farm power production.
